I don't feel fair voting in it since I haven't read all of the other stories. Maybe I can find them online. I would also probably vote for Kraken but for the same problem.

Sometimes.
Anyway, when I found out Chicago got the worldcon bid for 2012 I was jumping up and down for joy inside and immediately went and signed up. That means I get to vote for hugos right? So all next year I am going to make sure I read everything I can that will get nominated.
Oh, and work is sending me to Sydney! Yay! too bad it didn't happen at the same time as worldcon :)

I agree — it won't be fair voting without having read the competitors.
Maybe the the voting system at Utopiales had overcome this problem: You voted for the film (after watching it) either with "very good", "good", "acceptable" or "bad". Then an average score got calculated for each movie and the one with the highest won the award.
