As a form of art and creativity, I also love music that is inspired by science fiction, science, and musical scores specifically created for scifi films, planetary observatories and music that goes well with deep space travel & Hubble Telescope pictures…

Mike Oldfield: "The Songs of Distant Earth" (inspired by Arthur C. Clarke)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..JJmS-HY234

Oldfield again – I think, a Lenie could sound like this:

The singer is interesting, too: http://machineculture.com/arch…..s/2006/01/

After an excavation in my CD archive, I found "The New Sound of Frankfurt" (and it´s rather synthi pop than techno).

Fantasy Ten: "Big Bang"

I like Mike Oldfield myself.  Thanks for reminding me of this Andrea.

Thanks!  Cool  I agree.  I love the melding of music, science & art.

And I have a piece of techno on my mp3-player (but wasn´t able to find it on the web – not really surprising – it has been created by an unknown band from Frankfurt). At least I could cite the lyrics:

Big Bang…(Lyrics)

I just got myself an mp3-player and hope to load it with an assortment of music.  Germany has some great music, besides classical~ techno of course~ and I like Tangerine Dream…

Thanks for sharing Andrea,

crash:conspiracy  "<>" — soundtrack of a dystopic German cross-media project

The near-future TV series "Alpha 0.7" (http://www.alpha07.de/) about "brain scanners" as new surveillance technology for crime prevention is accompanied by several fictive web pages, blogs, and music videos on Youtube (probably the most interesting part for English speakers — though the web part would be accessible via Google translate). Aydo Abay acts as Ino Control (an activist of the Apollon resistance group against this total surveillance), and produced this soundtrack.

In my opinion, the soundtrack is the best part of the project.

I was at The Gathering this year, which hosted the scene.org awards for the demo scene.

There are some really great real time videos in the nominees (and in general!). I could enjoy an endless loop of recordings of some of these.

Editing to add:

http://www.pouet.net/ seems the place to go to for links to these things in general.

Apparently there is an Alien Queen performance.

Alien Queen: Alien Queen: The Concert combines the legendary music of Queen with an outrageous parody of the “Alien” films. For the “Concert” we’ve added songs, dancing, and even more absurdity to create a top-notch Queen tribute band featuring those fantastical aliens, cross-gendered humans, and some of Chicago’s best singers and rock musicians. Featuring classic Queen hits as well as deep cuts from the early Queen catalog, Alien Queen’s transformation into concert form puts the epic music and absurd pageantry front and center.

hoping it is fun

It was fun, and our young friends who got us to go stand in front of the stage despite us being old fogeys was a great guy. we had a stage side view. I'm not sure this will ever go on tour. Maybe some other troups would do it for fun in other cities?

Killer Queen indeed.  Was Lance Henriksen there?
